To the American reader, Patricia Buckley's memoir, My Journey with the Angels, will immediately bring to mind Frank McCourt's 'Tis. Born in Dublin in the early 1960s, her childhood and adolescence are almost too painful to recount: oldest of an ever expanding brood of children; daughter of an alcoholic, violent father and an exhausted, self-absorbed mother; beaten, overworked victim of aggressive, abusive men; sometimes homeless, often drunk, at one point imprisoned in a mental ward too painful, in deed.
How does she survive? As a child Patricia saw and spoke with angels and often had fleeting contact with the dead. In this she was encouraged only by one grandmother and when that dear woman died, the girl realized she would have to deny these relationships or live at the mercy of those who thought her mad. Eventually she meets and marries a fine, hardworking and supportive man and has children, but she still keeps her angels at bay.
It is not until her family is grown that Patricia again makes contact with the spiritual world and has the courage to confess this to her husband. Amazingly, he encourages her and she finds that many other people are receptive as well. In fact, by the 1990s, a great many people in the UK and America were very interested in angels; studies show that well over half of us believe in angels and that they play an active part in our lives. Today Patricia and Stephen Buckley run a very successful business, Angels of Ireland, but it is clearly the spiritual readings she performs for those who come seeking wisdom and healing that give her the most satisfaction. Although Buckley was raised as a Catholic and lives in a nominally Catholic land, the spiritualism encountered and embraced by her and her cohort seems unrelated to any religious creed or sect.
The book, published by Penguin, is well written, formatted and edited while such colloquialisms as youse and howaya give it an Irish lilt that charms. Sure, and it does.

“My Journey with the Angels: An Inspiring True Story of Healing and the Wisdom of Angels” is the story of Patricia Buckley’s experiences with angels and how they have impacted her life. Patricia’s story includes physical and emotional abuse as well as years of depression and anxiety. Her relationships with angels have helped to free her from depression and to create a life in which she assists others in connecting with the spirit world. This is a story about spiritual openness and personal acceptance.
At the age of six, Patricia encountered the spirit of a little boy who’d drowned. It was the first time she had come face-to-face with a spirit, but little Patricia was already aware of the angels in her life. Conversations with the angels that began when Patricia was seven encouraged a sense of protection and guidance. But she learned early on that talking about the angels led to negative responses from her parents. As a result, Patricia learned to keep the angels secret while also learning to love and appreciate their presence in her life.
While Patricia embraced the angels and later shared her secret with her paternal grandmother who could also see them, her home life was rife with physical abuse by her alcoholic father and emotional detachment from her chronically depressed mother. As the oldest child, Patricia was burdened with helping her mother care for her many siblings. Once she grew older, Patricia also became the main breadwinner in a household where her mother stayed home and her father worked sporadically. During adolescence, Patricia gave impromptu readings to complete strangers when spirits of their relatives approached her. In her late teens, the hardship of working full-time and assisting her mother with caretaking duties became too much for Patricia and she collapsed under the weight of her responsibilities. After a three month stay in a mental health hospital, Patricia denounced the angels and continued to use antidepressants into late adulthood. Many years later, after marrying and establishing her family, Patricia re-opened her heart to the angels and began to follow the path that was her true destiny.
This story will challenge the beliefs of many who read it, but it is about more than accepting whether or not Patricia Buckley has the ability to see angels and communicate with the spirit world. The main theme of this story is having the strength and courage to be who you truly are in a world that will readily deny your truth due to fear or misunderstanding. The beauty in this book goes beyond the spiritual content. Patricia’s story is a simple testament to how the universe will open up to you when you exist in the world as your authentic self.

Having had the opportunity to read the script of Patricia's book I have to say that I managed to hold back the tears for the first chapter or so but very soon found the tears rolling down my cheeks for most of the rest of this true story,
It was sadness and happiness all rolled into one.
There are alto of characters in this book and Patricia manages to keep you connected to all of them
and relate to each and everyone.
This book will help you see that we are not alone,our angels are protecting us all the time,
which gives us that feeling of warmth we all crave for.
My journey with the angels is a highly enjoyable read,grab a copy and find a comfortable chair,

Hi,
Just finished reading 'My Journey with the Angels'. Was brousing in Eason's in Navan on Saturday when I came accross it. Tried to put it back on the shelf as I had just finished a third book written by people who communicated with Angels and thought maybe that was enough of that type of book for a while, but I couldn't put it back down so I had to buy it. It is a very moving inspiring story and I shed a few tears. Thank you for giving such insight into Heaven and the Spirit world and for passing on your incredible love in the form of this book.
My wife is now reading it and no doubt it will be passed on to someone else after that.

I have just returned from the Spirit and The Seas Cruise and was lucky enough to be able to have booked an appointment with the organisers to see Patricia for an Angel Card reading during the cruise. >From the moment I walked into the room I felt at ease with this beautiful lady. Her whole being exuded love and light and a spirit that shone. With her tiny frame, lovely long dark hair and piercing blue eyes, I felt as though I was meeting someone very special. Patricia is just that. Her precision astounded me, including names and times and events. Her true humility shone from her eyes as she gave me details that could NEVER be a second guess or shot in the dark. I could have quite easily spent all day with her, but all too soon our time was over. I left the room feeling elated and more lifted than I had done in a long time. She gave me true evidence of the Angels and Spirit World. This evidence was also proven later on in the evening. Patricia had given me healing upon my stomach area which she told me had been troubling me (very true!). Later I had an Aura Reading by another lady and the Solar Plexis Chakra (stomach area) showed up as very strong (at 90% balanced!), much stronger than the other chakras. Usually this is the weakest chakra for me. This proves beyond doubt that Patricia along with the Angels and Spirit World had performed something that cannot be dismissed. Patricia is a humble, special and very gifted lady. I would recommend her very highly to anyone that is thinking of guidance from the Angels or communication with a lost loved one. She has undoubtedly got a God given gift which she shares with those who seek her. She is most certainly and Earth Angel.

I sent in a note before, however since then I wanted to let you know that wow oh wow is my life going great. I had my last reading with Trisha in April and was very sceptical about what she might tell me as I had been with her once before ( I left very shocked at what she revealed then ) so I figured that the last time she would most likely talk about the same things however this was notthe case. If I was to attemp to tell you about how accurate Trisha was, I would fail but as the worlds most avid sceptic I was again very shocked at what I heard. I originally thought an Angel reading was 99% boloney and 1% luck.... was I wrong. I heard things that were so personal and accurate about myself and my past ( some of it never before discussed with anyone )that the part inside me that wanted to believe all along was a firm believer in all I heard. I recounted what I had been told to my husband who had laughed at me in the beginning however he went white when I gave him the details. In April I expected the same sort of thing and yet again it was a totally different experience. Cards were used in a way I couldn't have imagined. I never felt uneasy and with Trisha's fabulous understanding of what she was lettin me know and her confidence in th messages she was giving the whole time seemed to be over in a flash. For anyone who ever wondered, I can only say meet Trisha. She is one of the most gentle people I have ever met, and positive. There is no pushing, no fishing for information, just detailed messages. Again I cannot express my sincere relief having met Trisha, but I would like to say, that having had a little girl who died at 3 and a brother killed tragically I was petrified of hearing something I wouldn't like.... Absolutely not. I came away for the first time in years feeling I hadn't missed something and now that I no longer wonder and question I have been able to remember all the good and great things I blocked out without realising it.

When I first went to Patricia I was in a lot of pain. It was in my left shoulder going down my arm and my movement was limited.
I went to Patricia for a healing.
I found out it was emotional healing I needed for the physical pain. After a few sessions with Patricia I noticed changes from subtle to dramatic. My emotial pain was from issues from my past and she helped me to let it go.
The person who caused the pain no longer had control over me and I started to heal.
Through the sessions with Patricia I learned to take my power back. (Something I really thought I coudnt do).
I no longer have pain in my shoulder and I feel I am on the right path and moving on.
I also learned how to meditate ,that is something I have never managed to achieve as I have a mind crowded with thoughts !
You feel a sense of calm when you meet Patricia, she is gentle ,soft spoken and not intrusive. To my life ,she has made a big difference.
